Publix stops offering free prescription medications
Since 2007, Publix has provided more than 100 million free prescription drugs to customers at pharmacies. The program provided oral antibiotics along with blood pressure and diabetes medications. “We consistently evaluate our programs and services to ensure they are meeting the intended purpose and evolve over time,” said company spokeswoman Hannah Herring.
Since starting the program in 2007, Publix has offered free Amlodipine, Amoxicillin, Lisinopril and Metformin, among other medications. Available medications treated conditions such as: Heart Health/Cardiovascular; Diabetes; Cholesterol; Mental Health; Seizure Disorders; Parkinson’s Disease; Alzheimer’s Disease; Osteoporosis; Gout; Arthritis/Pain; Gastrointestinal
